Truck and Coach Technician

 

Position Details: Full Time Permanent

Hours: 42 hours/week

Location: Timmins, ON

Start Date: As soon as possible

 

Job Summary:

Timmins Kenworth Ltd. is looking to hire a Truck and Coach Technician (Licensed candidate preferred however, open to apprenticeship) to work out of our Timmins Facility. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our service department team while upholding our values of integrity, safety, and providing quality service to our valued customers.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Complete repair/service orders

• Perform scheduled maintenance on heavy duty tractors and trailers

• Diagnose and repair all related systems on transport trucks—including but not limited to; all electronic, diesel engine, manual and automated transmission, front and rear suspension, driveline, HVAC, and cab/interior.

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks

• Assemble and install customer additions such as rear fenders, lights, and racks

• Perform customer OEM and government inspections

• Reconditioning of pre-owned equipment

• Accurately recording all work completed for customer, including any warranty work.

• Maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers

• Maintain shop cleanliness

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with heavy duty diesel

• Demonstrated knowledge of tractor and trailer equipment and components

• Good mechanical knowledge of air systems

• Electrical and computer diagnostics experience on major OEM engines such as Paccar, Cummins, and Cat.

• Previous experience on post 2010 emissions systems diagnostics

• Demonstrated experience with diagnosing, repairing and maintaining equipment

• Valid Driver’s license
